What are the rules of Mini Golf?

Mini Golf, also known as putt-putt or crazy golf, is a fantastic game suitable for players of all ages, and with We Are Tricycle, mini golf is just many of the fairground rides and carnival games we offer for hire nationwide. Let's take a closer look at the rules of Mini Golf to ensure you have a swinging good time at your next event!
- Tee Off: When you're ready to tee off, stand with confidence and take your swing! The youngest player goes first, and the turn order is usually based on the scores from the previous hole, with the lowest scorer (i.e. the top performer) leading the way.
- Watch Your Stroke Limit: To keep the game flowing, most Mini Golf courses have a stroke limit for each hole, typically set at six strokes. Aim to complete each hole within this limit. Whether you decide to stick to this stroke limit and pick your ball up when you fail to reach it, or if you want to keep on putting until you pot the ball, depends on the skill level of your group!
- Conquer the Obstacles: Our Mini Golf courses are designed with exciting obstacles and tricky hazards to challenge your skills. Navigate through tunnels, over ramps, and around windmills to reach the hole.
- Play the Ball Where It Lies: Resist the temptation to nudge your ball or use your feet while it's in motion. Play it as it lies after each stroke, and let it come to a full stop before taking your next shot.
- Only use the Golf Club: Don't be tempted to nudge the ball with your feet or stand in its way to cajole it towards the hole! The only thing that is allowed to touch the ball is your golf club.
- Don't touch a Moving Ball: The golf ball has to be completely stationary before you can take your next swing.
- Ace the Hole: To complete a hole, guide your ball into it. Once your ball is snugly in the hole, it's time to move on to the next challenge. Mark down how many swings it took to get your ball in the hole.
- Keep Score Like a Pro: Keep track of your scores on a scorecard provided with our Mini Golf hire. Record the number of strokes for each hole, and at the end of the game, the player with the lowest total score is the winner.
- Good Sportsmanship Matters: At We Are Tricycle, we encourage good sportsmanship and respect for fellow players. Avoid distractions during others' turns and don't be a sore loser, or a bragging winner!
