Funfair Accessibility FAQs | Inclusivity, Safety & Guest Support

Funfair Accessibility FAQs

Funfairs should be for everyone. We design our events with inclusivity at the core, ensuring that children, families and guests with disabilities or additional needs can enjoy the rides, games and atmosphere safely and comfortably.

Core guidance: Disabled Accessibility and Inclusivity at Funfairs & Fairgrounds

Access & Mobility

Are funfairs wheelchair accessible?
Yes. We provide accessible routes with Crowd Barrier Fences and matting to keep paths safe. Seating such as Picnic Benches and shaded Relax & Chill Out Zones create rest points.
Can mobility scooters or prams move around the site?
Yes. Routes are planned with wide pathways and ramps. We also use clear signage and stewards to help guide guests smoothly between zones.
Do you provide quiet or calm spaces?
Yes. Relax & Chill Out Zones can be included at any event, offering a quieter environment for guests who may be sensitive to noise and crowds.

Inclusive Attractions

Which rides are suitable for all ages?

Gentle attractions like Traditional Victorian Carousel, Tea Cups Funfair Ride and Children's Fairground Rides & Attractions are accessible to a broad range of guests, including those who may not be comfortable with thrill rides.

What if some guests can’t use rides?

We recommend Indoor Fairground Games, Electronic & Digital Games, and Garden Games such as Giant Connect 4 and Giant Jenga. These activities are fun, inclusive and easy to adapt for different needs.

Support & Safety

Do staff receive accessibility training?
Yes. Our operators are trained to support guests with mobility challenges, learning differences and sensory needs. They work alongside carers and families to ensure a positive experience.
Can carers accompany guests on rides?
Yes, where safe to do so. Many rides allow a carer or parent to ride alongside a guest for reassurance. We follow the principles set out in Funfair Ride Health Restrictions and the Equality Act.
How do you handle sensory sensitivities?
We can reduce volume levels, switch off flashing lights on some attractions, and create “quiet hours” with a calmer atmosphere tailored for SEN groups.

Popular Accessible Choices

Event planners often include: Traditional Victorian Carousel Tea Cups Funfair Ride Table Football (Fooseball) The Vault Giant Connect 4 Dance Machine.

These attractions encourage participation across ages and abilities, making them ideal for inclusive school fairs, charity events and council fun days.

Quick FAQs

Do you provide visual aids or braille signage?
We can supply clear, large-print and symbol-based signage. Additional aids are available on request for guests with specific needs.
What about guests with anxiety?
Our quiet zones and calm areas are specifically designed for comfort, with staff trained to support guests who may need time away from the main fairground energy.
Is there guidance for schools and SEN groups?
Yes. We liaise with schools and organisers to tailor event layouts, staffing and attractions for SEND pupils, supported by best practices like How to Help Nervous Children with Funfair Rides.
