How to Beat the Street Fighter Arcade Game

Hadoken! We've all heard that familiar cry while playing Street Fighter! We've also all experienced the familiar feeling of defeat as your player lands face down, having been beaten to a pulp once again! Well, worry no more. No need to suffer the embarrassment of yet another loss, and feel your friends' disapproving glares before pumping good money after bad into the iconic Street Fighter arcade game. We're here to help!

In this less than exhaustive guide, we'll do our best to make you the Street Fighter master and help you impress your friends and family the next time you see a retro arcade machine. A word of caution though! By following this guide, your ego will become massively inflated and you'll be gazed upon with admiration from friends, neighbours and complete strangers. Are you sure you can handle that? Heavy is the head that wears the crown!

Defeat the Opponents on Street Fighter

The most important thing to remember while attempting to kick butt while playing Street Fighter is to know your fighter. Make sure you've nailed and memorised the combinations to unleash your best attacks. What use is a Ryu without a dragon upper cut? What use is Blanka without their eerie electricity attack that'd cause eye watering energy bills? What use is Chun Li without her iconic and devastating speed kicks? No use. So take the time to claim the crown. Practice your character's unique moves and make them so ingrained in your memory box that you can whip them out under any circumstances and in the most high pressures of environments (playing your best friend at an arcade game in front of a huge crowd).

On that tip, it's also really worthwhile to know all characters' special moves. It's all well and good to be the master when it comes to unleashing Guile's sonic booms. What good will that do you though when you're challenged to play as a less familiar character, or when you're told who to play as! Best make sure you've got everyone's moves down pat, so you can at least smash out a few more spectacular attacks, regardless of who your fighter is!

We can't emphasise how important it is to be patient while playing Street Fighter, especially when you have an audience. Again, there's nothing more humiliating than a harrowing loss in front of friends. Reduce the risk of this by thinking your moves through carefully and meticulously. Don't rush, don't give in to the adrenaline rushing through your body, take a second to breathe then take advantage of your opponent's mis-timed jump. Trust us, there is always an opening, you just have to wait for it. Always remember, fools rush in and people who read this guide always win (okay we made that last bit up, but it's true!)

Finally, the best way to win is simply by going for M Bison and using the slide attack. We hate to say it because this is unfair but this method is unbeatable. If you really need to win at all costs, go for the biggest boss in the game and use their unblockable slide attack. Please be aware though that you may not have many friends left after you've won every match this way. You've been warned!
