The Disappearing Funfair Ride Passenger
A viral video appears to show a child mysteriously disappearing on a funfair ride - and the woman who recorded it and her son who was sat next to the vanishing youngster both claim that no camera trickery was involved and the recording shows exactly what happened. What do you think?
The video, from Johor, Malaysia, and originally posted on TikTok, is set beneath the carnival's twinkling lights. Nur Afrina Rosini had taken her young son, Muiz Zafran, on a fairground ride. Muiz found himself sharing a cart with an unknown child who was a stranger to him. The video appears to show the kids interacting with each other and looking at each-other.
But as the ride circled back, the boy who had been Muiz's companion had vanished into the abyss, and Muiz was on his cart alone! The child had disappeared in one rotation, as if into thin air.
There have been fairground urban legends in the past about disappearing roller coaster carriages, ghost passengers and other spooky occurrences - but as far as We Are Tricycle know, this is the first time that such a hair-raising experience has been caught on camera! Who needs thrill rides when the stranger in the carriage next to you could be a ghost?
According to the Sun, Rosini said: "“I am not mistaken. They were sitting together. I didn’t know the boy next to him. I think the workers seated them together.”
"While I was filming a short video, the car came around a second time and my son was suddenly alone!"
She shared the unsettling footage on TikTok, accompanied by the enigmatic question: “Who is sitting next to MUIZ???”
Young Muiz also said that there was a boy sat next to him, and reported having no idea where he had gone!
Of course, some sceptics claim that this is an example of camera trickery - perhaps clever editing, although it's hard to see any evidence of this. Maybe the boy slipped out of the funfair ride somehow - but there were no reports of any injuries, and nobody has come forwards to explain what happened. Perhaps the kid managed to duck out of view of the camera? We'll just have to put this one down as a mystery!
